In-person training
In-person ExtendSim classes in the Southeast
Every other month we teach a class in person in a city within a few hours' drive of our Knoxville-area office: Atlanta, Cincinnati, Asheville, Nashville, Charlotte and Knoxville. Two or three full days, a small room, and Andy and Amber Siprelle at the front of it.

Why in person
Two or three days away from the plant floor
Online sessions fit around a day job. In person, a team gets two or three uninterrupted days: build a model in the morning, break it after lunch, and ask the questions that don't come up on a call. It's how SDI taught ExtendSim for years, and it's still the fastest way to get a new modeler working on their own.
- Small classes, taught by Andy and Amber Siprelle
- Hands-on all day, with exercises and solution files you keep
- Close to home for plants across Tennessee, Georgia, the Carolinas, Kentucky and Ohio
- The same courses as our online ExtendSim classes
Cities and hotels
- Atlanta, GA: The St. Regis Atlanta, Buckhead
- Cincinnati, OH: The Lytle Park Hotel, downtown
- Asheville, NC: Grand Bohemian Lodge, Biltmore Village
- Nashville, TN: The Joseph, downtown
- Charlotte, NC: The Ritz-Carlton, Uptown
- Knoxville, TN: Marriott Knoxville Downtown
Planned hotels. Each is confirmed 30 days before its class.
Want a class at your own plant instead? Ask about an on-site class for your team.
Before you come
What to bring
- A laptop with ExtendSim installed and licensed. A trial license works for ExtendSim Fundamentals.
- For Discrete Rate and Database and Experiments, some modeling experience or our Fundamentals course.
- A question from your own plant, if you have one. We use them in class.
Questions
Where exactly is the class?
At the hotel listed with each class: The St. Regis Atlanta, The Lytle Park Hotel in Cincinnati, Grand Bohemian Lodge Asheville, The Joseph in Nashville, The Ritz-Carlton Charlotte or Marriott Knoxville Downtown. We confirm the hotel and the meeting room 30 days before class and send the details to everyone registered.
Do I need to book a hotel room?
Only if you're traveling. Book your own room; we'll tell you the hotel 30 days out so you can stay where the class is.
How much is an in-person class?
$1,888 per student for a 3-day class and $1,688 for a 2-day class, including the course materials and exercise files. Pay by purchase order and invoice, or by card.
Can you bring a class to our plant instead?
Yes. On-site team classes are taught at your site, on your own model if you like, and quoted for the group. Ask about an on-site class.
Will there be classes in other cities?
The rotation covers cities within about four hours of Knoxville. If your team is elsewhere, an on-site class or our online classes may suit you better.

Questions about an in-person class?
Tell us which class and city, and how many people you'd send. We'll reply within one business day.
- A straight answer on whether simulation is the right tool
- Which tool fits, even if it isn't one we use every day
- A rough scope and timeline, before any commitment
